Responsiblities:

  • Establishing, planning and implementing policies
  • Governing the organization and monitoring progress
  • Approving budgets and assuring financial resources
  • Selecting, appointing, and approving committee members and volunteers
  • Enforcing our mission statement
  • Supporting the council director
  • Attending a monthly meeting

Our goal is to include a fair representation of backgrounds and experiences to guide our organization. Men and Women are welcome to apply. Board members must be able to commit between 1 and 3 years of service to GOTR.

Board applications are due by March 31, 2010.  Applications and questions can be directed to Bridgette Lipman

Requirements for Volunteer Areas

Coaching

Have fun with the girls as a coach during the program. Involvement includes the following:

  • Be available two days a week for at least 60-90 minutes each day.
  • Teach the curriculum given to you by GOTR.
  • Attend 5K running event
  • Help girls choose and conduct a community service project.
  • Attend coaches training.

Grant Writer

Explore grants which meet GOTR requirements. Help research, write and proofread.

Site Liasion

Be the main communicator between GOTR and one school site.

Fundraising

Help coordinate and plan fundraising events and campaigns during the program and throughout the year.

Sponsorship Opportunities

We appreciate our generous sponsors, who are helping make it possible to restart Girls on the Run Louisville.  Sponsor contributions are provided in many forms including monetary donations, program supplies, volunteer hours, and advertising support.   If you would like to get involved as a sponsor at any level, please Contact Ann Ouimet, Fundraising Chair.
