All girls that are currently participating in the Fall 2014 are already registered. Head coaches will pick up the t-shirts and race numbers for all girls and coaches the morning of the race.
Packets for Running Buddies and General Runners may be picked up at the race beginning at 8:00 a.m.
The Race will Start and Finish on the Harbor Lawn at Waterfront Park on River Road. The course will loop through the Park and will offer beautiful views of the Ohio River and Downtown Louisville. Girls on the Run volunteers will direct the runners through the course.
Spectators' and participants' safety is first and foremost with the race officials and Girls on the Run. We will closely monitor the weather forecast for race weekend, but due to rapidly changing weather conditions, we may not be able to make any decision regarding the race until Saturday morning.
The event will occur rain or shine, but below are the steps if there is a risk of thundershowers or accumulating snow showers:
1) If there is a threat and/or we are having thunderstorms or snow showers at 9:45am on race morning, the race start will be delayed until 10:30am to allow the threat to pass.
2) Should the threat remain at 10:30am, the Girls on the Run 5K will be cancelled. Unfortunately, no refunds will be able to be given due to weather crisis situations.
Should a storm come about while the runners are out on the race course, they should all seek coverage along the race course. Once the storm has passed, runners should return directly to the race start/finish line.
Parking is available downtown and in several parking lots in Waterfront Park, which are marked on the course map Please note that the Purple Parking Lot is closed due to bridge construction. We encourage you to carpool to the 5K, as spaces nearby are somewhat limited.
